Fancy learning how to make delicious probiotic drinks at home, an amazing day out with your friends in a peaceful environment and a beautiful long-table lunch? Join us for our probiotic drinks workshop

Kombucha, water kefir and milk kefir are ancient probiotic drinks that contain abundant living healthy bacteria - or probiotics. 

Described as an 'Immortal Health Elixir' by the Chinese over 2000 years ago, Kombucha is believed to help to restore and maintain our gut microflora which is linked to enhanced digestion, improved mental health and increase immunity. 

With delicious tailored flavours - peach and vanilla, raspberry and passionfruit, pineapple and coconut.... kombucha and water kefir are also the perfect alternative to sugary soft drinks. 

Whether you are brand new to the health drink craze or have dabbled in fermenting before, we have lots of new ideas and information presented in this full day workshop. 


Join us for a day out away from the busy city hustle in a peaceful setting to learn all about these delicious drinks and take home everything you need to get started at home. 

In this workshop we will:

  • Start the day off with a probiotic-rich morning tea and an introduction to fermentation

  • Learn the process of making Kombucha and water kefir with plenty of tastings along the way.  You will be provided with with your own SCOBY (or mother) and batch of water kefir grains to take home and get started.

  • Learn the process of milk kefir and then how to turn it into beautiful cultured cream and labne.  We will also whip up a batch of cultured butter for you to take home and share with your family.  You will be provided with your first batch of milk kefir grains.  

  • We will break for a long-table lunch in our garden feasting on the delights of our signature Short Street platter plus dessert. Think crunchy home-made crackers, fermented and sprouted dips, cream cheese topped with pickled blueberries or fresh honeycomb from our bees, colourful rice-paper rolls in amongst our latest favourite things to cook
  • Take time to stroll around our rambling rose-gardens, orchards and veggie-patch
  • Take home all three starter cultures, extensive notes and recipes as well as your first bottle of kombucha to enjoy at home
